Now this is more like it...
First of all, we need to clarify one thing: Elsy LOVES snow...

Despite our previous posts with nice warm weather, we woke up to typical cold, SNOWY Kansas City. We had fun making snow angels, having a snowball fight and feeding Elsy snow...
A view from our front porch, and from the back
Hooray! Let's layer up to play in the snow!

Valentine's Weekend and Cincinnati
Our Valentine's weekend began with a rough trip to Kentucky. Apparently, KCI decided to let go too many employees and there was only one shuttle driver for the entire airport and we waited for 45 minutes, only to discover Northwest Airlines will NOT let you on the plane any later than 30 minutes prior to departure time. Not even 22 minutes...Needless to say, we visited Minneapolis, Detroit, and then Louisville before we picked up our rental car to drive to Lexington. I had two interviews at UK College of Dentistry, then we drove to Shawn's hometown, Monticello where we were greeted by our adorable nieces.

Troublesome Trio: Jaedyn, Caleb and Brylee

Getting a Valentine's Day balloon from Aunt Crystal
Friday we drove up to see Jess and David in Cincinnati where we were treated to homemade doughnuts! She even made heart-shaped doughnut holes in chocolate and powered sugar! YUM!

Jess with her delicious doughy creations

Caleb LOVED his breakfast treat

Playing tackle the blankie with uncle David

Aunt Jess treated us to PF Changs for Valentine's Day lunch while the men watched a game at Champs

Next stop, IKEA! We fell in love with the kids section!

Look mommy, egg chairs!
Shawn and I celebrated our Valentine's Day in a very special way. Shawn's top pick for residency program, The Christ Hospital, had a second glance dinner and provided us dinner and a VIP private tour of the Cincinnati Bengal's stadium!

Coach Peavie making an important call during the Superbowl...

A sunny weekend forecast...
This weekend, we made a family trip to Lowe's...Daddy is building Caleb a new bookshelf! Caleb was very helpful finding the perfect lumber.

Caleb discovered hard work makes you dirty and had to take a bubble bath.

Today was a particularly warm day here in Kansas City reaching a high of 62 degrees! We decided to take advantage of this unusual occasion and invited our neighbors over to play and rake up some leaves in our backyard. Much fun and plenty of dusty bottoms ensued!

Weeee! Leaves are fun!

Caleb wanted to lend his Daddy a helping hand with the rake

Watch me jump in the leaves Mommy!

Elsy couldn't resist getting a lick off of Max's salty little cheeks!

Of course Caleb takes after his mother and realizes the importance of oral hygiene. Despite the fact he does not have any contacts, Caleb feels flossing his teeth is VERY important...He loves his Wal-E electric toothbrush, thanks to Grandma Jen Jen and Grampy and even knows how to get those hard to reach first molars! :) Way to go Caleb! It makes Mommy very proud!
