It's been a while, but she was worth the wait!

We apologize for not updating the blog as of late but the Peavie family has been busy with the newest addition to our family, Aubrey Isabelle Peavie! She was scheduled to be induced Thursday, December 10 so that mommy would be able to spend at least one month with her before her return to school. Aubrey suprised us all when mommy's water spontaneously ruptured at 6am Wednesday, December 9th! Daddy loaded up the car and called Nana and Aunt Crystal, then dressed Caleb and drove us (as quickly as he could in morning rush hour traffic). We tried to rush up to labor and delivery only to be greeted by five other people in the elevator, all needing to stop before the ninth floor. Needless to say, when we arrived in labor and delivery, the nurses were quick to get mommy in a room when they saw she was just about ready to pop out a baby! Because of the wonderful H1N1 virus, Caleb wasn't able to be in the room and Nana and Crystal were still on their way! Daddy stayed with Caleb and mommy registered and got her epidural while she waited on Daddy. Nana and Crystal arrived at 10am and mommy was ready to go...9cm and Aubrey politely waited for her father before she made her grand appearance. After four little pushes, this lovely lady was ready for the world! Aubrey was born at 10:50am weighing 8lb.0oz and was 21inches long! Most of her weight was carried in her adorable chubby cheeks! Caleb spent the night in Monticello and mommy and Aubrey were released from the hospital the very next day! When we arrived home, Caleb was overwhelmed with joy and could not believe his sister was finally here after 9months of patiently waiting! He is an EXCELLENT big brother. He loves to kiss his sister and says, "It's ok, bubby's right here" whenever she cries. Caleb holds his sister very softly, helps mommy and daddy change diapers (excellent diaper runner), and even gives her pacifier to her when it falls out! The two seem to go together like peanut butter and jelly! Daddy was able to take a whole week off and we loved every minute of it! Aunt Jess came to visit and help out--thanks Aunt Jess for everything!! Nana and Papa drove up to help out too and so Papa could meet his new grandaughter. Aubrey had her first pediatrician's visit Monday with Dr. Stine. She is now a whopping 8lb. 5oz and seems to be in perfect health! This girl knows how to eat, that's for sure! Daddy went back to work this week and so far, so good. Mom is surviving with two babies at home, thanks to my well-behaved kiddos and WONDERFUL supportive husband that comes home after a long day of work and takes on a second shift helping with baths, feedings, dinnertime and bedtime! We are in heaven here in Union, Kentucky and are so very blessed with our newest addition!
